ATEME Provides to Arcana a Complete Video Headend in a Box for DTH Distribution

Ateme provides a complete Video Headend

The video headend powers 8 SDI and 5 IP channels in MPEG-2 and H.264, and uses ATEME pure-software solutions TITAN Live, TITAN Mux and StatMux to deliver encoding, multiplexing and statistical multiplexing functions. The platform fits into a single 1RU server, providing Arcana with a very low density solution.

TITAN is a virtualized software-based solution designed for cable, DTH, DTT and OTT. ATEME’s “building block” approach provides full flexibility as software modules can be combined as needed: any input/output, any CODEC, any resolution, from an encoder to a video headend in a box. TITAN can run on any commercial off-the-shelf server, in any environment, removing all infrastructure constraints.

“As part of our transition to the all IP COTS-server based headend, we were looking for a software solution with high video quality to support premium content, and high density,” said Immad Iftikhar, director technical & operations at Arcana Media Group. “ATEME TITAN enables us to meet our CAPEX and OPEX targets, without compromising video quality.”

Emmanuel Boureau, VP sales at ATEME said: “Combined with our global experience in technical deployments, TITAN interoperability with third-parties products and solutions led to a smooth and seamless integration with Arcana eco-system, reducing both time-to-market and OPEX.

Furthermore, this solution is available on a pay-as-you-grow basis, making it easy to add functionality and increase density via a simple software licence.
