The Ninja V or Inferno monitor / recording devices will be able to record 4K 10-bit 422 HDR footage with the new Panasonic Lumix S1 full-frame mirrorless camera. Through HDMI, these Atomos devices allow recording in Apple ProRes or Avid DNx codecs up to 4kp30 in HLG HDR format, including the possibility of receiving an “instant and accurate” HDR image compatible with HDR televisions and monitor, or Youtube uploading.
A future paid firmware update provided by Panasonic will add 10-bit 422 HDMI output in V-Log gamma, specifically the full V-Log, “rather than the V-Log L variant found on the GH5 and GH5S”. Atomos has already shown its disposition to support the options that the update will bring.
The Ninja V screen includes features such as a 1000 nit of brightness in SDR mode (1500 nit under standard conditions). Naturally, the device is fully compatible with the Atomos AtomX SSDmini drives or Atomos Master Caddy II drives.
