California-based Macnica Technology will show the new products of its VIPA product line and offer live demos of its SMPTE ST 2110 and NMOS network media switching solutions at the 2019 NAB Show (6-11 April).
The company will introduce the VIPA 25 PCI Express (PCIe) card, an ST 2110 accelerated network interface card that, according to the company, “completely offloads the network processing and timing workload from the CPU”, providing a “straightforward, simple API” that contains NMOS IS-04/05 and GStreamer filters. These features make the device ready for IP-networked broadcast applications on open standards. In addition, an optional 12G-SDI daughtercard adds SDI support with continuous API access alongside ST 2110. The company will also display at 2019 NAB Show the VIPA 10, its 10GbE card.
“We’re building a flexible, accessible ST 2110 platform that will be at the heart of a new wave of products in the broadcast and professional video industries. We can’t wait to show off some of the things we are doing with our technology at NAB. The VIPA 25 will be perfect for broadcast equipment manufacturers who need the kind of reliability they’ve come to expect from SDI in a standards-compliant ST 2110 solution” said Andrew Starks, Director of Product Management at Macnica.
