NAB Show 2021, the global broadcast trade show, is cancelled
NAB Show 2021 is cancelled. Through Chris Brown, executive vice president and general manager of Global Connections of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the community that integrates the association has recently received a message. The content states that the NAB Show scheduled for October 13-17, 2021 and based in the city of Las Vegas (Nevada, USA) is canceled due to measures to preserve global sanitation.
The content of the announcement shows the importance that the General Manager of NAB has given to the work they have done for a whole year so that the Las Vegas show could be held. Unfortunately, the challenges that Covid-19 and the new Delta variant have imposed on the global society could not be avoided, even with all the hard work.
The association commitment is to maintain the safety of the people who make up the global audiovisual industry and therefore, explains Chris Brown, cannot host the fair or other events located in the field of exhibition this year, noting that they cannot do it in person.
He then stresses that the NAB Show is the main destination for all those involved in the broadcast sector and that, before any other interest, they want to maintain the excellence expected and desired by the association. Therefore, they have to cancel the show.
Finally, the statement highlights that it is disappointing not to be able to hold the show in 2021, but the association hopes that the entire industry will converge at NAB Show 2022, where he expresses that it will be held on the show’s original dates: April 23-27, 2022.
