Ross Video has announced that its latest Production Automation Suite is now compatible with vSphere 6.7 sporting the reliability and performance equivalent to traditional turnkey servers for these products:

  • OverDrive Automated Production Control System
  • Inception Newsroom Computer System (NRCS)
  • Streamline Assets Management solution
  • XPression Gateway for integration into MOS and NLE workflows
  • XPression Project Server for rapid project distribution, versioning and backup

“Meeting such high standards requires a significant amount of performance tuning and would not have been possible without support from VMware’s performance engineering team”, notes John Naylor, Technology Strategist at Ross Video.

VMware vSphere reduces the need for single-purpose products in the signal chain. This also provides our customers with a simpler path to adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud environments with significantly reduced risks, according to the press release.

“Broadcast workloads have stringent timing requirements, need guaranteed I/O performance and require high bandwidth to deliver the experience needed for broadcast customers. We are very pleased with the work we have done together with Ross Video to ensure that broadcast customers can depend on VMware vSphere on datacenter class hardware as a key foundation for modern broadcast workflows”, says Pat Lee, VMware’s Vice President of Strategic & Emerging Solutions.
