FloSports has selected TVU Networks’ Video-Over-IP technology to stream its more than 10,000 live competitions that airs each year. TVU’s solutions allow the live digital sports broadcaster to simulcast events, record footage for raw archiving or produce live programming from remote locations. The company even provides its TVU One cellular mobile units as backup to guarantee live coverage.
TVU transmitters, which use IS+ (their own transmission algorithm), can combine all kind of bandwidth mediums to ensure their broadcast with a 0.5 seconds latency: 3G/4G, LTE, WiFi, Ethernet, Ka-band and Ku-band satellite, microwave, microwave mesh and BGAN.
“We’ve used equipment from other video-over-IP providers, but it did not perform well covering events like cross country where the camera has to move with the athletes across a course, which can cause fluctuations in celluar connections. In contraste, we found TVU One to be very reliable for this type of coverage, and we experienced better results” said Eric Helton, Director of Production of FloSports.
