The International Luge Federation (FIL) has signed an exclusive partnership with Chyron to deliver state-of-the-art live graphics for FIL’s broadcasts, beginning with the highly anticipated 2024/2025 pre-Olympic winter season.
Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, FIL Secretary General Dwight Bell remarked, “This season, we’ll be competing across three continents—Europe, North America, and Asia—and it’s a critical period as athletes begin Olympic qualification. Chyron’s cutting-edge graphics perfectly align with our goal to enhance viewer engagement, making this partnership a natural fit.”
The partnership builds on Chyron’s successful involvement in FIL’s broadcasts over the past season, where they played a pivotal role in transforming FIL’s graphics approach. This revamp included the redesign of the base graphics package and the introduction of dynamic visuals that enrich the viewing experience by making data-driven insights more accessible and visually appealing. Chyron’s graphics team has maintained a consistent presence at every EberSpaecher World Cup and FIL Championship event, contributing significantly to the broadcasts’ analytical depth and quality.
“The FIL gave us a thrilling challenge: to redefine their on-air look while optimizing their live production workflow,” said Drew Hahn, Chyron’s Senior Vice President of Sales, Americas. “With Chyron PRIME’s power and versatility and the expertise of our professional services team, we delivered an impactful first season. We’re excited to take this partnership even further.”
Mark Friedman, Vice President of Sales for Strategic Accounts at Chyron, noted, “Working alongside the FIL team, we crafted a new visual style that leverages the vast array of data points they collect, which were previously underutilized. In a sport where each race can be decided by fractions of a second, Chyron PRIME allows us to generate engaging graphics that match the event’s intensity.”
As the official graphics provider for the new season, Chyron will introduce further innovations in storytelling, supported by Chyron PRIME’s advanced capabilities. FIL fans can expect fresh animations and enhanced custom graphics designed to make data-driven information both engaging and informative, creating a richer viewing experience worldwide.
FIL President Einars Fogelis shared his enthusiasm: “We’re thrilled to deepen our partnership with Chyron. Their expertise in TV graphics and live production has already proven invaluable, and we look forward to the new innovations they’ll bring to our broadcasts this season.”
Chyron’s CEO, Mike Truex, concluded, “The FIL’s forward-looking approach is perfectly matched with our technology. They are determined to grow their global audience through compelling, data-enriched graphics, and we’re proud to demonstrate the impact Chyron PRIME can have for top sports federations globally.”
