Accedo, Brightcove, and JUMP collaborate with Al Sharqiya Group to launch SVOD service

Accedo, a global provider of video solutions, and Brightcove, known for its streaming technology, have announced their collaboration with Al Sharqiya Group (“Sharqiya”) to enhance its 1001 OTT streaming service with Iraq’s premier Subscription Video-On-Demand (SVOD) platform, alongside live linear channels. As a prominent media provider of factual and entertainment content in Iraq and a key player in the MENA region, Sharqiya’s expansion through its support of 1001 marks a significant milestone in the region’s media landscape.

Launched initially in March 2023 as an Advertising Video-On-Demand (AVOD) service, 1001 serves Arabic-speaking audiences globally, offering a diverse range of high-quality, localized video content in Arabic and English. The SVOD platform’s introduction complements the existing AVOD service, providing consumers with ad-free access to premium content. Developed in partnership with leading content platform providers OSN+, Rotana, and Starzplay, the SVOD platform offers an extensive catalogue of content for on-demand viewing, aligning with the evolving preferences of today’s viewers.

In collaboration with technology partners Brightcove and Jump Data Driven Video, Accedo delivers an end-to-end OTT application solution, designed to offer Sharqiya’s customers an attractive, tailored SVOD experience. The video service, developed by Accedo, will leverage Brightcove’s global streaming technology solution and will utilize JUMP Insights and Personaliser for advanced analytics, insights, and recommendations.
