América Televisión and Canal N embrace Dalet Unified News Operations for news management

Dalet has recently announced that América Televisión and Canal N channels, both owned by Plural TV Group, have installed Dalet Unified News Operations technology powered by Dalet Galaxy five.

The objective of this implementation has been to consolidate the news production and distribution of both channels into a single newsroom system, functional both remotely and in the offices.

América Televisión offers thematic programs, reality shows and general news. Canal N focuses on country news, current affairs and political programs. Both are based in Lima, Peru.

After decades with the editorial and archiving processes of the two news operations working separately, the group transformed the old, isolated infrastructures under Dalet’s new technology. The upgrade of the two channels has been led by Dalet’s partner company Connect Media.

The transformation has included a centralized archive to manage agencies and content, with tools to facilitate news planning, editing, graphics and publishing.

“Dalet’s news platform was designed to adapt to the way our journalists, editors, news directors, graphics and camera crews want to work,” explains Javier Vasquez Mendoza, Head of Operations Engineering and Support, America Television. “Everything is interconnected. Centralized access to content facilitates story development from the newsroom, remotely or from home.”

The Dalet Unified News Operations platform enables both channels to manage the development and production of television and online news. Dalet Brio supports 16 ingest channels and have the ability to edit breaking news as the material is recorded on the storage server, as well as play out all news packages and on-air programs. The capabilities included in Dalet Galaxy five for content management track metadata.

“Dalet’s integrated newsroom and news-centric workflow allows newsrooms like America Television and Canal N to reimagine their entire workflow to get more value from their content while supporting a more dynamic remote work scenario,” says Julian Decaix, General Manager, Americas, Dalet.
