ASG and Grass Valley work together to bring cloud solutions to virtual and remote production
Advanced Systems Group and Grass Valley have partnered in order to integrate the Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP) cloud-based SaaS into ASG’s new Virtual Production Control Room. That virtual platform from ASG is powered by Google Cloud and does not require on-prem services to deliver live event coverage. It supports content contribution via videoconferencing applications, SRT, LiveU and NDI.
“Live cloud-based production is no longer in the proof-of-concept phase. It’s the future – and the future is happening now”, said Mike Cronk, vice president of Advanced Technology, Grass Valley. “We designed AMPP specifically to address the responsiveness and low-latency requirements of live production, and we’re excited to be included in ASG’s robust solution for real-time remote production”.
“AMPP was designed to mirror broadcast workflows in the cloud, which fits perfectly with our VPCR philosophy”, said Dave Van Hoy, president of ASG. “Grass Valley is helping us create a familiar, reliable, and secure control room in the cloud that delivers production quality that’s comparable to traditional, hardware-based facilities”.
The virtual remote solution from ASG has been designed around a multi-vendor solution. Its ecosystem includes more than two dozen companies.
