Ateliere Creative Technologies acquires Agile Live, paving the way for significant cost reductions in global live TV production

Ateliere Creative Technologies has made a strategic move in the realm of live event production with its acquisition of Agile Live, a cutting-edge cloud-based platform. This acquisition, jointly announced with Agile Content, aims to significantly reduce global live TV production costs across news, sports, and events, both companies stated.

Based in Century City, Calif., Ateliere Creative Technologies is renowned for its advanced GenAI media software solutions. Agile Live, developed by Agile Content in Bilbao, Spain, represents a groundbreaking shift in the industry, leveraging next-generation software architecture and cloud technology to slash production costs by as much as 70%. This move marks a departure from traditional, expensive hardware setups to more scalable and cost-effective IP-based systems.

Dan Goman, CEO and founder of Ateliere Creative Technologies, highlighted the acquisition’s transformative potential: “Agile Live strategically enhances a broadcaster’s capacity and streamlines the production of live content, substantially enriching the array of real-time entertainment accessible to consumers. With this acquisition, we are revolutionizing the live production content industry to deliver enhanced real-time content directly to consumers. It underscores Ateliere’s unwavering commitment to innovation, a hallmark of our reputation in the industry.”

Agile Live’s impact is already evident through its adoption by leading broadcasters such as Sveriges Television (SVT) in Sweden. SVT has successfully utilized the platform for major sports events, achieving significant reductions in on-site equipment needs, streamlined workflows, and lower overall production costs.

Dennis Buhr, Head of Production Development at SVT, emphasized the platform’s role in their strategic vision: “SVT is at the forefront of broadcast technology innovation. We are building the software-defined infrastructure that will support our business for many years, and the Agile Live system plays a key role in helping us deliver that vision.”

Koldo Unanue, CEO of Agile Content, expressed optimism about the acquisition’s potential: “With Ateliere’s established portfolio, organizational strength, and market presence, the conditions are ideal for the technology and team to expand rapidly and achieve global success. We are eager to explore how our complementary portfolios and capabilities can advance our partnership, leading to the creation of new innovative solutions.”

As part of the acquisition, Ateliere will integrate a highly experienced team of live production software engineers based in Stockholm, Sweden, further enhancing its technological prowess in this sector.
