Ateme powers TV+, CANAL+’s new OTT service

Ateme has announced its collaboration with Canal+ to launch TV+, the latest streaming service from the Canal+ Group. TV+ consolidates over 80 live and catch-up TV channels, a selection of Canal+ SVOD content, and includes 8 digital channels within a single app.

Canal+ has implemented Ateme’s NEA solutions to enable a seamless VOD-to-Live workflow, transforming the manufacturing and distribution process of its OTT channels. This technology allows the streaming platform to aggregate linear and VOD content across its channels and deliver them efficiently through the new streaming offering.

Philippe Rivas, Platform Engineering Manager at Canal+, highlighted the significance of this initiative: “With the launch of this new service, Canal+ is positioning itself more than ever as the reference in terms of content aggregation, particularly by leveraging its extensive content portfolio to introduce new channels. We are excited about our collaboration with the Ateme team on this project. The NEA solution we have implemented ensures smooth and efficient workflow operations, completely revolutionizing how we build and distribute OTT channels while maintaining a high-quality end-user experience.”

This partnership builds upon the longstanding relationship between Canal+ and Ateme, marking another milestone in their joint efforts to innovate video consumption. Over the years, Ateme has played a crucial role in Canal+’s digital transformation, contributing to advancements in high-quality video compression, low-latency OTT streaming, multi-device packaging, and dynamic ad insertion.

“We are proud to continue supporting Canal+ in its journey of innovation,” stated Remi Beaudouin, Chief Strategy Officer at Ateme. “The television industry is undergoing significant changes, and Canal+, with its brand and technological leadership, consistently demonstrates its ability to adapt and offer new ways for audiences to consume video content.”
