Aviwest releases the RACK400: a encoder prepared for remote production

Aviwest has recently announced its new series of RACK encoders for remote and at-home video production over unmanaged IP networks. The new product is available in a compact half-1U form factor and it is called RACK400.

The encoder supports 4K / UHD and multicamera workflows for up to up to 4K 60p combined with eight audio channels and fully frame-synced feeds. The last generation of of H.265/HEVC and the proven H.264/AVC compression standards are both supported.

“The RACK400 is a game-changer for the broadcast industry, accelerating live remote production and offering the potential for greater productivity and huge savings in operational and capital expenses”, said Samuel Fleischhacker, senior product manager at Aviwest.

Advanced features of the RACK400 includes frame-accurate synchronization and video transmission between multiple cameras, high-definition video return (up to 1080p50/60) from the studio to the venue for monitoring or teleprompting, the support of full-duplex intercom to communicate between field crews and studio operators and data bridging for remote camera control, tally light management, or any other IP device control.

The Aviwest’s new device will be showcased at the 2021 NAB Show from Oct. 9-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
