Cobalt Iron enhances security of Amazon Web Services with Compass SaaS

Cobalt Iron has recently announced that it is reinforcing the backup and data protection for Amazon Web Services. Compass platform is part of this reinforcement, owned by this company, and this SaaS enables management of Amazon Web Sevices virtual machine (VM) snapshots.
Compass users are able to manage backup retentions and schedules for AWS VM snapshots using the Compass Commander GUI, the same interface with which they manage their enterprise backups. Users no longer have to spend extra time logging separately into AWS or other tools. Compass will record and report both AWS and non-AWS VM backup events within a single GUI. Also, Commander can be set up to add information through reports and timely notifications of instant events, if desired.
“Enhancing our support for AWS with the new VM capability allows our customers to access and manage the entire backup landscape from Compass Commander — easily managing scheduling and reporting of their AWS VM snapshots alongside other backup clients”, said Robert Marett, chief technology officer at Cobalt Iron. “This in turn simplifies operations, while saving time, reducing costs, and increasing security. It’s just another example of our dedication to the ongoing advancement of Compass to meet the ever-evolving needs of the marketplace”.
