Increased efficiency and new graphic user-interface: VideoIPath update available

Nevion, a Sony Group Company, has announced the availability of the 2023 LTS release of its media orchestration platform, VideoIPath. This release focuses on providing enhanced functionality for orchestrating, operating, and monitoring broadcast infrastructure and media networks. The platform is a key component of Sony’s Networked Live offering, is utilized globally by broadcasters and telecom service providers for various applications, including contribution, remote production, facilities, OB trucks, and GCCG.

The 2023 LTS release features a new graphic user interface (GUI) with improved search and filtering capabilities, faster interface refresh, and increased customization options. The GUI facilitates linking between different applications, streamlining the user experience and reducing the number of clicks required for increased operator efficiency.

Addressing the management of broadcast operations, the release emphasizes enabling workflows that leverage the flexibility of IP, especially in hybrid SDI/IP environments. New functionalities include support for camera control workflows and fast switching in IP, such as shading, along with added support for GPIO connection management and logic.

The release introduces new north-bound interfaces, including legacy protocols, to support familiar systems and control surfaces. Additionally, multiple south-bound drivers for production equipment have been added, expanding the list of device interfaces offered by VideoIPath.
