Gravity Media partners with CYCA and Seven network for Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race broadcast

Gravity Media, company that specialized in complex live creative production and media services, has announced its collaboration with the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia and the Seven Network as the broadcast technology and television production partner for the upcoming Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race. The event, set to commence on Boxing Day from Sydney Harbour, will feature Gravity Media Australia’s comprehensive television broadcast production. This marks Gravity Media Australia’s 18th year as the broadcast and technology partner for the prestigious Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race.

The 78th edition of the race will see a diverse fleet, including multiple former winners, tackling the 628 nautical mile course. A notable competition is expected among four 100-foot maxis: Andoo Comanche, the four-time winner and current record holder; SHK Scallywag; Law Connect; and Wild Thing 100. Gravity Media Australia will provide complete broadcast coverage, incorporating on-board cameras on selected maxis, on-water chase boat cameras, and live helicopter and drone camera footage.

Hosted by Mark Beretta of Sunrise, the commentary team on Seven will include veteran Peter Shipway, America’s Cup and Rolex Sydney Hobart Line Honors winning skipper Jimmy Spithill, and Olympic Silver Medallist Lisa Darmanin. The Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race coverage will air on 7mate, Seven, and 7plus starting at 12:30 pm AEDT on December 26.
