IBC organizers definitively cancel the in-person show

And finally, the IBC organizers have cancelled the long-awaited world’s broadcast industry trade show. Earlier today, through a massive press release addressed to all of us who have been looking forward to it, they have stated that the trade fair will not hold the event for the public in person. Of course, the main reason is related to the rising incidence figures for Covid-19 in the Netherlands.

The contagion figures and oversaturation of the health systems had caused the Dutch government to decide to establish leisure curfews and even confinements.

Of course, the thousands of warnings and messages that both, exhibiting companies and visitors, sent to the trade fair organizers also played an important role. The continuous cancellations of the most representative companies of the sector and the results of the surveys that assured that the international professional public would not attend the event have also been determinant for the IBC organization to finally decide to cancel the in-person event.

The IBC Partnership Board affirms that it wants to prevent the industry to travel to Amsterdam and encourages all those professionals to continue betting on the reunion through the IBC Digital platform, where they can also see all the news planned for this edition.
