Kinostar together with Okast launch Turkish movie FAST channel

Within their agreement for collaboration, Kinostar, the Germany-based programming distributor, has partnered with Paris-based streaming technology provider Okast to unveil its inaugural Free Ad-Supported Television (FAST) channel – Turk on Video Free. This channel, positioned as a complementary linear counterpart to Kinostar’s existing Turk on Video channels, is set to be accessible on Amazon Freevee.

Turk on Video Free will feature a thoughtfully curated selection of Turkish movies, aiming to expand Kinostar’s reach and cater to a diverse audience. The channel will not only be available on Amazon Freevee but will also complement Kinostar’s existing Turk on Video channels, which are currently accessible on Amazon Channels across German-speaking Europe, Benelux, and Scandinavia.

This innovative FAST channel is introduced as part of the European consortium FAST4EU, a collaborative effort co-funded by the European Union. Since 2022, FAST4EU has been actively involved in supporting the creation and launch of FAST channels, with the goal of reaching audiences across the European Union.

Leading the FAST4EU Consortium is Okast, a specialist in Over-The-Top (OTT), FAST, and live streaming services. The company is at the forefront of shaping the future of content distribution within the European market.

Michael Roesch, CEO of Kinostar, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Turkish content holds a prominent position globally, being widely acclaimed. Following successful screenings in European cinemas and availability on various platforms such as TVOD, EST, and SVOD channels, we are thrilled to collaborate with our partner, OKAST, via the FAST4EU consortium, to make this content accessible to an even broader audience, free of charge and supported by advertisements.”
