Oman TV relies on Aviwest for the production and distribution of the Tour of Oman 2022

Aviwest has recently announced that the cycling race 2022 Tour of Oman was broadcasted live using PRO3 Series bonded cellular transmitters and StreamHub transceiver.

The national broadcaster Oman TV deployed motorbikes, shoulder cameras, and drones with PRO3 transmitters. This equipment was distributed in more than 13 locations around the country to follow the 891-km race. In addition, they relied in StreamHub transceiver to distribute the footage to affiliates and other international broadcasters.

Each PRO3 Series transmitter delivered video over 4G/3G cellular networks to AVIWEST’s StreamHub platform — located in Oman TV’s control room. That platform then received and decoded the live feeds. StreamHub allowed to be freely distributed over virtually any IP network to CDNs, media servers, streaming platforms, multiple affiliates and other broadcast facilities. It supports multiple output formats and features Safe Streams Transport (SST) protocol.

“AVIWEST solutions gave us more flexibility to cover the Tour of Oman live, allowing us to streamline our workflows and deliver greater coverage that captures different aspects of the competition,” said Tariq Al-Mawali, Satellite Broadcasting and Links Department at the Ministry of Information, Sultanate of Oman. “Our motorbikes, drones, and remote teams followed riders throughout the country’s rich and varied landscapes to capture the excitement of the race live over cellular networks.”
