RAI completes renovation of its graphics system with the participation of FOR-A, Class X and Bluefish444

Bluefish444 has recently announced that its video interface cards and signal converters have been successfully integrated with ClassX integration and FOR-A solutions at RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana).
In early 2022, RAI issued a tender to acquire graphic systems to create and broadcast real-time electronic graphics, intended for the technological renewal of the equipment already in service for national news production and some program studios.
The tender was won by FOR.A Italy, who proposed ClassX software with Bluefish444 KRONOS | K8 SDI video cards for live capture and playout.
Among the necessary criteria for winning the tender, the RAI required: operational simplicity, flexibility of applications, and strength and resilience. All standard are features of FOR.A hardware and ClassX software.
The combined ClassX software and Bluefish hardware achieved the RAI’s live broadcast graphics goals. These are typical of a news edition or television program, including the insertion of titles, lower thirds, news ticker/crawl, logos and much more.
“ClassX and For.A have been long term industry partners of ours” said Craige Mott, Managing Director of Bluefish444. “The fact that the RAI thoroughly evaluated multiple live graphics vendors and ultimately chose ClassX is testament to the features, quality and stability of their software. Our development teams have worked closely together to make a rock-solid integration, ensuring the RAI has the best featured, lowest latency and highest video quality broadcast graphics.”
“We are honoured to have been chosen and at the same time aware of why, we will work to carry out this great project in the best possible way with the collaboration of our important partners” said Giovanni Pallesi, CEO of ClassX.
