Riedel Networks and Kalaam Carrier Solutions forge solid regional network to boost MENA motorsport events

Riedel Networks has joined forces with Kalaam Carrier Solutions, a digital solutions provider headquartered in Bahrain. This strategic collaboration aims to elevate the motorsports experience across the MENA region while establishing a resilient and permanent network infrastructure.

Veer Passi, Group CEO of Kalaam, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “Collaborating with Riedel Networks on this initiative enables Kalaam to continue serving strategic industries and pivotal projects within the GCC, notably the world’s largest motorsports events. In these high-stakes environments, the quality and performance of the connectivity solution are paramount for success. By seamlessly integrating our carrier-agnostic approach with Riedel’s expertise, we are paving the way for ongoing excellence and pioneering advancements in global connectivity.”

The project, initiated in November 2022, demanded rapid execution, with completion targeted for mid-February 2023. Within just three months, significant milestones were achieved. The initial phase of Kalaam’s proposed plan resulted in a notable reduction in round-trip delay, decreasing from 120 to 70 milliseconds — marking a 41% improvement. Furthermore, the establishment of a new Point of Presence (POP) in Manama, Bahrain, empowers Riedel to leverage Kalaam’s wholly owned terrestrial cable system, Kalaam Network Optical Transit (KNOT), extending coverage to additional countries including Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), Kuwait (Kuwait City), Qatar (Doha), and the UAE (Abu Dhabi and Dubai).

Michael Martens, CEO at Riedel Networks, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “Kalaam Carrier Solutions perfectly aligned with our partner criteria, offering not only technological expertise but also a dedication to seamless collaboration and an unwavering focus on achieving our shared objectives. This collaboration has strengthened our network infrastructure and set the stage for future endeavors.”
