Ross Video has helped create a virtual lunar scenario for CMG and CCTV’s “Mission to The Moon”
CCTV, China’s national broadcaster, created the world’s first 4K UHD Immersive Mixed Reality (IMR) 4K UHD television production environment in 2019. It was created for Mission to The Moon documentary series. For series two, China Media Group (CMG) again turned to Ross Video for help.
In order to create a vivid lunar environment CMG built the world’s first 4K mixed reality real-time digital visual effects production studio in the world to create 3D animations on which the series is based. The new studio also helped to create the innovative AI astronaut character that was a regular feature of the series and guided the audience around the lunar environment. The major part of those visuals was rendered using Voyager, based on Unreal engine from Epic Games.
Ross solutions have helped CMG and CCTV push the limits of visual effects technology and set new standards for audience engagement.
