The 2024 Coppa Italia Frecciarossa final, which determined the champion of the 77th edition of Italy’s top football competition, featured a showdown between Atalanta and Juventus. The match took place on May 15 at 21:00 in the iconic Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

For the third consecutive year, Lega Serie A and Sony have leveraged innovative filming technology during the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa final to enhance the spectacle of the event. This strong collaborative spirit has forged a robust partnership aimed at advancing new techniques in sports broadcasting and delivering fresh, thrilling experiences for football fans.

This year’s final involved a large-scale filming operation, employing cinematic techniques and equipment to heighten the drama, improve on-screen details, and capture the emotional highs of key moments.

Highlighted technologies used included:

– The Sony Venice 2 Live Configuration camera, which provided a cinematic feel to the visuals with creative shots that emphasize depth of field and color details, capturing action from behind the goalposts.
– The Burano camera, deployed on the field edge with a Gimbal, which closely captured player emotions and field depth, utilizing its built-in image stabilization and autofocus technologies.
– The FR7 interchangeable lens and full-frame PTZ camera, which documented the drama and emotion in the players’ tunnel.
