TAG Video Systems integrates DreamCatcher to enhance replay creation

TAG Video Systems , in a move set to redefine the landscape of replay technology, has announced the integration of Evertz DreamCatcher™ replay technology into its Realtime Media Platform. This development also provides a game-changing solution for the early adopter, Texas A&M University.

DreamCatcher, an IP-based replay system designed for stadiums and fixed sports venues, is now seamlessly incorporated into TAG’s platform. This integration not only broadens the spectrum of choices available to replay users but also unleashes a host of functionalities.

Robert Erickson, VP Sales Americas, emphasizes TAG’s commitment to customer needs, stating, “TAG always has customers’ needs top-of-mind. We’ve integrated Evertz DreamCatcher technology into our multiviewer, providing our customers with the opportunity to enjoy TAG’s best-in-breed multiviewer alongside the industry’s widely used replay system.”

The November 2023 launch of this integration has already been adopted by Texas A&M. This seamless integration shows TAG’s platform interoperability. The IP and COTS-based open architecture enables compatibility not only with DreamCatcher but also with systems from other industry players such as EVS, Nevion, and Imagine. Users now have access to a diverse array of tools. The combination of TAG’s multiviewer and Evertz’s DreamCatcher allows for the display of six different metadata labels, including current time, video timestamp, clip name, clip ID, play status, playlist name, and playtime.

The inaugural adopter of this integrated solution, Texas A&M, attests to the benefits it brings. Jonathan Kerr, Chief Broadcast Engineer at 12th Man Productions, notes: “At Texas A&M, we have one of the largest football stadiums in the country. We’ve been using TAG’s multiviewer with DreamCatcher for several weeks now, and it’s been great. Being able to give our producers the ability to see the DreamCatcher data on our TAG multiviewer allows them to see when a playlist is going to end, when a clip is going to end, and how long the video has been going; all invaluable information that enhances our production values and elevates quality.”
