Telestream will showcase DIVA 9, upgrade to its media management, access, and archiving tool, at NAB 2024

Telestream® has recently introduced DIVA 9, a state-of-the-art middleware system designed with the aim to revolutionize how media companies handle, retrieve, and store video content. The solution will be on display at next NAB Show 2024, Las Vegas, on the Telestream booth.

Addressing the intricate demands of long-term video asset storage, DIVA 9 introduces enhancements to bolster the accessibility, reliability, and efficiency of digital video archives. This latest version streamlines archiving processes with intelligent media storage policies, advanced Elasticsearch search capabilities, and seamless cloud integration, ensuring robust, scalable, and adaptable solutions. This system emerges as a pivotal tool for media organizations committed to maintaining preservation and accessibility of video content over the long haul.

As the company signals, one standout feature of DIVA 9 is the integration of a new Proxy player with Telestream Vantage, simplifying clip identification, segment marking, and partial restore processes, thereby offering ease in managing video data. Moreover, this orchestration platform embraces cloud technology, facilitating straightforward deployment in cloud environments, supporting Postgres, and being compatible with major cloud storage options, catering to both hybrid and native cloud setups, as company states.

Tom Pflaum, Vice President of Product Management at Telestream, emphasizes the versatility of the solution stating, “One of DIVA 9’s most compelling attributes is its broad support for diverse production ecosystems, encompassing cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.” Pflaum adds, “DIVA effortlessly integrates with various storage technologies, such as LTO, disks, and private cloud servers. Furthermore, it seamlessly integrates with MAM, PAM, and automation systems, enhancing and enriching media supply chain workflows. It’s truly a comprehensive and flexible solution for content management.”

With nearly 100 updates from its predecessor, the upgraded solution prioritizes enhancing system reliability, user experience, and operational efficiency. Updates include bug and security fixes, performance enhancements, and usability improvements.

DIVA 9’s Elasticsearch-driven search capabilities offer a unified view across multiple storage systems, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Its redundancy, distributed deployment options, and disaster recovery features further enhance reliability for media production teams.

In essence, the company indicates that, by centralizing content management, transcoding, and archiving, DIVA 9 breaks down workflow silos, enabling a more agile media supply chain. Moreover, the company signals how integration with Telestream solutions like Vantage, Qualify QC, and GLIM Clipping & Inspections automates quality control, accelerates media processing, and enables efficient proxy-less playback.
