TVN lifts the German Cup of football broadcasting the final match

TVN was in charge of the production of the DFB Cup Finale, which marked the end of the German football season in the Olympic stadium in Berlin. The company introduced some technical advances in the broadcast with the use of an Arri Alexa Mini as a Cinematic Steadycam on the sidelines for the first time and two OB Vans to make UHD-HDR format available.

“We were on site for the DFB with our TVN-Ü6 and TVN-Ü5 OB vans to broadcast the final in UHD-HDR,” said Bastian Berlin, Head of Sales at TVN MOBILE PRODUCTION. “Our signal was distributed live to around 200 countries and could be seen in Germany on the public ARD program ’Das Erste’ and on Sky.”

The match was the most viewed sport event in Germany. Hosted by ARD and on Sky, it reached an audience share of around 30 per cent in “Das Erste”, the German public network. Therefore, more than ten millions viewers watched the BVB victory over RB Leipzig.

“Thanks to the stronger depth of field and the special look of the Cinematic Steadycam shots, we were able to capture the dramaturgy of the final very beautifully – we would like to offer such options to directors again and again,” Bastian Berlin adds.
