Chinese streaming platform WeTV to be integrated into NetRange’s OTT ecosystems

NetRange MMH GmbH, provider of smart TV and OTT ecosystems, has recently announced that it has been selected by Tencent Video to power the international expansion of its WeTV service. The objective is to push its capabilities reaching new Smart TV and connected device users through the NetRange Smart TV App Store.

This agreement enables WeTV to leverage NetRange’s integration process, eliminating the need for content agreements with individual device brands and manufacturers.

Tencent Video has built a portfolio of content and it has grown into one of the largest online video platforms in China. WeTV is a global video streaming platform launched by Tencent Video. WeTV has achieved over 60 million downloads globally in 2021 and over 35 million subscribers on YouTube.

“The addition of WeTV content to NetRange’s app store is a real triumph,” said Michi Uemetsu, CTO of ACCESS CO. “With this agreement, WeTV will be available on millions of devices. In addition, we offer a worry-free integration process that takes just one month. We are delighted to have been able to help Tencent Video reach millions of new viewers for WeTV and expect WeTV to enjoy explosive growth in Southeast Asia and beyond.”
