Panasonic’s KAIROS software mixer integrates with Viz Mosart

Panasonic Connect Europe has announced a major development for its KAIROS production platform, now fully compatible with Vizrt’s Viz Mosart automation system. This integration, part of the KAIROS Alliance Partner program, enhances workflow options by introducing powerful automation capabilities to the cutting-edge software mixer.

KAIROS is a next-generation, software-based video switcher that is reshaping live production by offering unmatched flexibility compared to traditional hardware systems. It allows for unlimited control over the creation of high-quality content across broadcast, large-format displays, and live streaming platforms. This advancement marks a significant step forward for production teams seeking efficient, scalable solutions.

The integration of Viz Mosart automates repetitive and complex manual tasks, allowing production teams to focus more on storytelling and less on technical operations. Whether for live news, sports, or pre-recorded studio productions, Viz Mosart helps reduce operational costs, improve consistency, and enhance technological capabilities across the board.

“The open architecture of KAIROS makes it easy to integrate with third-party systems and applications. Incorporating Viz Mosart is another example of how we are responding to the demands and needs of our customers,” said Andre Meterian, Director of Professional Video Systems at Panasonic Connect Europe. He added, “This also demonstrates the advantages of the KAIROS Alliance Partner program, where more than 50 manufacturers and suppliers collaborate to improve content efficiency, flexibility, and quality—all powered by the KAIROS platform.”

Andy Newton, Senior Product Manager at Vizrt, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “Many clients choose Viz Mosart to maximize the value of their studio investments, unlocking more creative potential with every action. The flexibility of KAIROS extends our workflows even further, solidifying Viz Mosart as a leader in software-based studio production.”

Key Benefits of KAIROS

According to Panasonic, KAIROS offers limitless flexibility in inputs, outputs, and operation, optimizing live video production workflows. Unlike traditional hardware-based switchers, KAIROS allows for the creation of as many video layers as the GPU can handle, enabling the addition of multiple effects and keys on any layer without restrictions.

Another standout feature is KAIROS’ independence from resolution and format, enabling simultaneous processing of input signals with varying resolutions such as HD and UHD. Designed with native IP capabilities, it supports IP (ST2110), NDI, and SDI signals without the need for external conversion. With PTP (Precision Time Protocol) synchronization, KAIROS is ideal for remote video productions in IP-based environments. Its advanced software processes ST 2110 and NDI streams at any resolution, while its open architecture allows for seamless integration with external sources and destinations, making it compatible with a wide range of hardware and software systems.

As the media industry increasingly turns towards software-driven solutions, the integration of KAIROS and Viz Mosart sets a new standard for automated production, offering enhanced flexibility, efficiency, and creative potential for broadcast and live production teams worldwide.
