Mo-Sys Engineering has recently announced the introduction of two StarTracker products together. This introduction will expand the Mo-Sys range and improve camera tracking technology for professional broadcast and cinematic use. The new versions are called StarTracker Max and StarTracker Mini.
StarTracker Max will use an all-new, compact form factor, three times smaller and significantly lighter than the original. Along with a detachable processor for more convenient operation, gen lock synchronization and 120-degree wide-angle tracking, StarTracker Max will offer twice the tracking accuracy of the current model, according to company representatives.
In addition, automatic alignment technology will simplify setup and ensure ultra-precise survey calibration. The new tracker has the ability to quickly discover the star map, works with a new user-friendly interface (iOS and Android) and has a D-Tap power input.
StarTracker Mini incorporates a wide-angle infrared camera that is immune to studio lighting and provides the ideal solution for office-type virtual production spaces using green screen, low-cost LED walls or projectors. A powerful processing unit is integrated to provide unobstructed mounting freedom on cameras, pedestals, booms and gimbals. Mo-Sys will also launch an exchange program that will allow StarTracker Mini customers to trade in their Mini for a StarTracker Max as their business grows.
The StarTracker Mini is specifically designed for studio spaces with ceiling heights up to 3.5 m and floor areas up to 100 square meters.
Starting June 27, 2022, customers ordering a current StarTracker will be eligible for a free upgrade to StarTracker Max when stock is available.
