Reporter TV Kerala is broadening its newsgathering capabilities across India ahead of the 2024 Indian election, opting for LiveU’s IP-video EcoSystem. The regional channel has outfitted its news teams with LiveU’s LU800 multi-cam units and LU-Smart apps. The portable IP-video solutions will enable the Malayalam-language news channel to deliver content in nine regional languages on both linear TV and digital platforms. Lamhas Satellite Services, LiveU’s local partner, is handling service and support.
Reporters nationwide will utilize LU800 multi-camera encoders and LU-Smart mobile app licenses to provide daily live news coverage. LiveU’s resilience, powered by the LRT™ protocol, played a crucial role in the decision-making process, along with the LU800’s multi-camera capabilities allowing for coverage from different angles using a single unit.
Anto Augustine, Managing Director of Reporter TV, emphasized the channel’s investment in top-tier broadcast technology to expand reach throughout Kerala and across India. The decision to choose LiveU was based on its quality, reliability, and flexibility, allowing the channel to offer diverse programming by covering events with multiple feeds from the same location using a single unit.
Anil Ayroor, President of Reporter TV, highlighted LiveU’s ability to cater to viewers who prefer news in their regional languages, stating that it provides an opportunity to add stories interesting to millions with strong connections to the Kerala region.
Manoj Shah, Director of Lamhas Satellite Services, expressed delight at Reporter TV’s choice of LiveU technology, committing to support the channel as it expands operations across the country.
Ranjit Bhatti, Senior Director of South Asia at LiveU, underscored the significance of 2024 in Indian news and welcomed Reporter TV to LiveU’s customer roster, noting the channel’s role in solidifying business growth during this crucial year.
