Leading Taiwanese broadcast production company Adventurer A/V has further strengthened its position in the APAC broadcast media market by investing in the latest Ikegami UHK-X700 4K-UHD HDR camera systems. This purchase, which includes the BSX-100 base station and OCP-300 operation control panel, reflects Adventurer A/V’s commitment to delivering high-quality content across a range of production environments. Two of the four new cameras have also been supplied with VFL201D 2-inch LCD viewfinders for shoulder-mounted operations.
This latest acquisition complements the four UHK-X700 systems Adventurer A/V purchased in 2023, following a successful evaluation of a demonstration unit. By expanding its portfolio, the company aims to enhance both its in-house production capabilities and the services it offers to rental customers, ensuring it remains competitive across the fast-paced APAC market.
In recent years, Adventurer A/V has consistently chosen Ikegami products, including the HDS-V10 and HDK-79EXIII cameras, due to the brand’s versatility, reliability, and ease of integration with existing infrastructure. The UHK-X700 systems will be pivotal in upcoming projects, such as the broadcast coverage of the Chinese Professional Baseball League Asia Winter games.
Versatility for productions
Designed for both studio and outdoor environments, the Ikegami UHK-X700 offers flexibility to operate in 4K-UHD, 1080p, or 1080i resolutions, supporting both standard and high dynamic range, as well as standard or wide color gamuts (ITU-R BT.709 and ITU-R BT.2020). Weighing just 5 kg, the camera’s balanced design makes it easy to handle on pedestals, tripods, or shoulder-mounted rigs. With its three 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors and global shutter, the UHK-X700 eliminates rolling-shutter distortion and flash-banding artifacts, making it ideal for fast-paced productions. The camera also ensures that content mastered in full 4K-UHD will have a long commercial lifetime, especially for high-budget projects.
Integration with BSX-100 Base Station
The BSX-100 fibre base station offers broadcasters and production companies a coherent upgrade path as they transition from SDI to IP, SDR to HD, and HD to 4K dual-format workflows. The base station provides 3G-SDI/HD-SDI output in its standard form, with SMPTE ST.2110 media-over-IP interfacing available as an option for use across 10 GbE and 25 GbE networks. Its compact design ensures easy integration into mobile production units or other space-restricted environments.
This combination allows the UHK-X700 to shoot high-frame-rate footage at up to 2x speed in 4K, or up to 8x speed in HD, perfect for capturing fast-moving sports or live events. The system supports simultaneous output in HD SDR and UHD HDR formats, enabling seamless integration of mixed sources. Additionally, 4K-UHD video can be transmitted directly from the camera head via a 12G-SDI feed, making the UHK-X700 compatible with wireless systems.
Control with the OCP-300
Ikegami’s OCP-300 operation control panel provides full camera setup and control, with support for both ICCP and Ethernet-based control systems. Featuring a touchscreen LCD with rotary encoders and an SD memory card slot, the OCP-300 offers flexible control depth options, allowing operators to select basic, complete, or customized settings. It also supports shared operation of up to 10 cameras, offering an ideal solution for larger productions.
By investing in these advanced UHK-X700 systems, Adventurer A/V is well-positioned to deliver high-quality, cutting-edge content and maintain its status as a leader in the broadcast production landscape across the APAC region.
