Leader Electronics Corporation will present its cutting-edge test and measurement solutions at Inter BEE 2024, taking place from November 13-15 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba City (Japan). Among the highlights at Booth 3404 in Hall 3 will be the debut of the LeaderPhabrix LPX500 quad-input dual-screen waveform monitor, alongside the Leader LV5600W ZEN-W Series portable SDI/IP waveform monitor and the 1U LV7600W rasterizer.
Introducing the LeaderPhabrix LPX500: quad-input waveform monitor with dual independent touchscreens
Making its first appearance at Inter BEE, the LPX500 represents the next generation of hybrid SDI/IP video analysis tools from Leader and Phabrix. This innovative monitor is designed to handle both SDI and IP signals, with four independent analyzers that allow simultaneous display of up to four 4K video sources.
A standout feature of the LPX500 is its dual independent touchscreens. The integral touchscreen is complemented by an optional second screen, connected via USB-C, which provides users with additional control flexibility. Both displays support intuitive gestures such as swipe and tap, enhancing usability. For even greater flexibility, remote display configurations can be accessed via DisplayPort or SDI Mon BNC outputs, with built-in VNC clients boosting remote connection performance.
The LPX500 adopts Phabrix’s app-style interface, simplifying complex SDI and IP system analysis by offering an uncluttered, user-friendly display of essential information. New screen layouts extend the display area, enabling users to navigate through various configurations with swipe gestures and manage instruments precisely with tap, hold, and slide actions. This innovative approach optimizes the user experience, offering extensive screen real estate for detailed monitoring and control.
Debuting the Leader LV5600W ZEN-W Series: WebRTC-enabled waveform monitor and rasterizer
Also debuting at Inter BEE are the LV5600W and LV7600W, part of Leader’s ZEN-W Series. The LV5600W is a compact 3U high half-rack-width waveform monitor equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, while the LV7600W is a space-saving 1U rack-mountable rasterizer. Both models feature secure WebRTC remote control and monitoring, allowing users to operate the instruments remotely with ease.
These next-generation units are upgrades from the established LV5600 and LV7600 models, offering expanded capabilities for monitoring both SDI and IP signals in hybrid environments. The new features include advanced tools for 4K/UHD/2K/HD/SD SDI and IP signal monitoring, such as SDR Full Range display for black error detection, color gamut error, histogram analysis, and audio/video timing offsets. Additionally, the Cinelite and Cinezone tools have been further enhanced, with new presets tailored for ARRI and RED cameras.
The LV5600W and LV7600W also introduce seamless bidirectional HDR/SDR conversion, allowing HDR content to be viewed in SDR and vice versa—an invaluable feature for live production, on-set monitoring, and post-production workflows. The units support 3D color lookup tables for tasks like camera shading and HDR management, while timecode continuity monitoring is enhanced with new date display and source ID capabilities.
Audio innovations and IP signal monitoring enhancements
Leader’s new waveform monitors also include significant audio-related upgrades. A new audio mapping feature simplifies the process of verifying IP audio stream levels, a critical task in IP-based production environments. Both models support NMOS-based seamless switching of SMPTE ST 2110-20 IP video signals, offering reliable and high-speed transition between synchronized IP streams.
Leader’s commitment to hybrid SDI/IP monitoring
As the industry continues to embrace IP workflows alongside traditional SDI environments, Leader Electronics remains at the forefront of providing versatile, user-friendly test and measurement solutions. The new LPX500, LV5600W, and LV7600W products are designed to meet the evolving needs of broadcasters and media professionals, offering comprehensive tools for precise video, audio, and signal monitoring in both SDI and IP formats.
