LiveU provides Spain’s public service radio broadcaster (RNE) its IP-video solutions

Spain’s public service radio broadcaster Radio Nacional de España (RNE) has turned to LiveU’s IP-video solutions combined with its local partner’s, Datos Media Technologies. Through LiveU’s LU-Smart mobile app integrated with its LiveU Studio cloud production service, RNE’s objective focuses on maximizing cloud production capabilities for its live radio programs to better connect with its audience, as LiveU has claimed in a statement.

LU-Smart leverages existing networks (4G/5G, WiFi, and LAN) to provide coverage, enabling live content production from virtually any location via a smartphone. These signals are sent to LiveU Studio, allowing for channel management and mixing (up to 12 sources), graphic editing, switching, and video signal distribution from anywhere.

LU-Smart and LiveU Studio are trying to enhance RNE’s capacity to cover live events with minimal equipment and reduced costs. The Studio enables the integration of additional LiveU portable field units to contribute and integrate distributed live feeds for broadcast across any RTVE platform.

According to Jose Luis García Hernán-Pérez, Deputy Director of Technical Media at RNE, “LiveU technology has meant a significant improvement, as it facilitates the incorporation of more video content into radio programming. This responds to the growing demand from RNE’s audience, who seek a richer and more dynamic multimedia experience.”

The collaboration between LiveU and Datos Media is looking for streamlining the technical operations to deliver dynamic, high-quality content – meeting audience demands for immediacy and accessibility.

“Our partnership with LiveU brings quality and innovative solutions to our catalog for this and future joint projects,” adds Tomas Nielsen, CEO of Datos Media Technologies. “With LiveU technology, RNE gains the ability to produce live cloud-based events with minimal equipment while maintaining top-tier quality and seamless integration with the rest of RTVE.”

Laura Llames, Country Manager South Europe, LiveU, summed up, ¨We’re delighted to continue growing with RTVE. Beyond our daily work with TVE, it’s a privilege to support the RNE team, bringing the radio also to the screen.”

Televisión Española (TVE) is Spain’s national state-owned public television broadcaster and the oldest regular television service in the country.
