The production company Quality relies on Dejero’s solutions for the broadcasting of the FIBA 2023 qualifiers

Quality, a Spanish production house, has been in charge of the live coverage of the FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup qualifiers, relying on Dejero’s connectivity solutions for transmission to multiple broadcast networks.

Nine Dejero EnGo mobile transmitters were used for the multi-camera productions, while three Dejero WayPoint receivers located at Quality’s main control center in Madrid received the camera images and packaged content, which was then sent via satellite for global distribution. Two of the EnGo devices were used for backfill and key graphics for FIBA to package the content at headquarters and send it to Quality’s control center in Madrid.

EnGo’s intercom feature, which provides two-way, full-duplex voice communication between the hub and field personnel, was also used for live interactions during FIBA Qualifiers productions. A microphone on the hub was connected via an XLR audio cable to a WayPoint receiver, so the director could communicate with camera operators via smartphones connected to the EnGo. It also features AES 256 encryption to maintain the security of audio and video data when transported over public Internet links.

“Because EnGo combines cellular networks from multiple operators, we didn’t have to rely solely on the venue’s limited connectivity or worry about the logistics and costs of transporting a satellite truck to the island,” explains Pablo Reyes, head of production and partner at Quality. “With the live coverage of the FIBA qualification matches, we have proven once again that, using Dejero, we can literally broadcast live from even the most remote locations, achieving the kind of resilient connectivity required to stream live, high-quality video of major sporting events.”
