Strategic acquisition enhances Riedel’s service offerings and access to cutting-edge camera stabilization technology
The Riedel Group has recently made a significant investment in APEX Stabilizations, an Austrian company renowned for its camera stabilization solutions (gimbals). This strategic move expands Riedel’s service portfolio while incorporating APEX’s specialized expertise. Under this new partnership, APEX Stabilizations will become part of the Riedel Group but will continue to operate as an independent entity. The collaboration aims to combine the strengths of both companies to stay at the forefront of technological advancements and innovation in the broadcast and media industry.
Expanding horizons with APEX’s expertise
Founded in Vienna in 2019, APEX Stabilizations has made a name for itself in the media production industry. Their camera stabilization systems are widely used for dynamic shots taken from helicopters, cars, boats, or cranes, catering to live TV productions, commercials, and films. By joining forces with Riedel, APEX will leverage Riedel’s expansive sales and service network, enhancing its reach and operational capabilities. In return, Riedel gains access to APEX’s experienced team and technical know-how, opening new opportunities in emerging markets. Additionally, the partnership will foster synergies at both companies’ development hubs in Vienna, benefiting partners and customers through shared innovation and expertise.
A strategic alliance
With decades of experience in the media and entertainment sectors, both Riedel and APEX are well-positioned to capitalize on this partnership. Their collaboration will facilitate the exchange of ideas and technologies, allowing for improvement of their product offerings. Together, they are committed to developing innovative solutions tailored to the specific demands of the industry.
“I firmly believe in the innovative technologies developed by the Viennese pioneers at APEX,” stated Thomas Riedel, Founder and CEO of the Riedel Group. “Investments in such specialized technology are investments in our future and help us explore new niches in our core markets. Cameras equipped with APEX stabilization are already in use in many of the major productions we are involved in. Now, with APEX as part of the Riedel Group, we can offer even more comprehensive solutions to our customers.”
Thomas Schindler, Managing Director of APEX Stabilizations, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “Whether for live events, film productions, or TV broadcasts, the solutions provided by our two companies have become integral to the modern media landscape. Our technologies have often excelled together, most recently during the games in Paris. By joining forces, we will develop innovative products that set new standards in both image quality and seamless communication.”
The investment in APEX Stabilizations marks a significant step for Riedel as it continues to enhance its capabilities and expand its market reach.
