The Chinese online video service iQiyi has recently upgraded its OB Van technological infrastructure with Grass Valley. The upgrade has the objective to enhance production up to 4K UHD content creation and the media organization has achieve this requirements with an IP-based live production solution that also brings 4K UHD production of live entertainment shows.

iQiyi made its first strides towards bolstering its high-resolution production ability earlier this summer with the purchase of a range of LDX86N cameras from Grass Valley for its OB fleet, providing 4K UHD and HDR image capture.

Grass Valley’s Karrera K-Frame production switcher provides multiformat support for iQiyi’s different production environments. The IP workflow is underpinned by GV Node, Grass Valley’s real-time routing and processing solution and the Densité 3+ FR4 signal processing frame. Also, iQiyi has selected the GV Stratus toolset to support its video production and content management workflows.
