In order to support Vivaro Media’s live contribution of the upcoming 2023 Pan American Games, Vivaro Media has chosen Appear, specialized in processing and delivering technology, for supporting its live contribution of the next 2023 Pan American Games which will take place from October, the 20th to November, the 5th in Santiago, Chile. Vivaro Media has installed Appear’s X Platform to encode 10 live HD channels during the games.
According to Appear, its X Platform offers power, space, and operationally efficience. Vivaro Media needed to deploy the Appear X10 with software-defined HEVC compression to deliver 10 live HD channels from the games in Santiago, stating that it will allow them to minimize energy consumption and considerably reduce shipping costs and power usage – with no compromise on quality or latency.
The X Platform, according to both companies, seamlessly blends industry standards such as HEVC/AVC, ST-2110, JPEG XS, Zixi, and high-capacity SRT, with an equally broad array of processing, Network Address Translation (NAT), and firewall functions.
The X Platform includes Appear’s ECx110 modules for HEVC ultra-low latency encoding and decoding. It is a solution that offers ultra-low latency, HD, and UHD compression with SDI and ST-2110 uncompressed I/O, at scale and with 1RU or 2RU short-depth chassis options.
