Advanced Systems Group, LLC (ASG) is embarking on its next phase of growth by inaugurating a new office in central London. This strategic move bolsters the company’s European presence, enabling it to better serve its international clientele and meet the growing global demand for managed services, as well as production and post-production facility expertise.
Scheduled to open its doors in May 2024, the new headquarters of ASG UK will be located at Aviation House in London’s bustling Holborn district, renowned as a hub for professionals and creatives alike. Tim Cuthbertson, a seasoned ASG global account executive with over three decades of experience in integration and professional services, will return to his hometown of London to lead the new operations as Managing Director.
Cuthbertson described the launch of ASG UK as a decision made at the “right time, right place,” propelled by evolving business and economic dynamics. “Organizations in our markets have had to adapt their operations, initially responding to workforce changes brought about by the pandemic, and later addressing issues such as the actors and writers strikes. Consequently, there’s a significant surge in pent-up refitting and development,” Cuthbertson explained. “With globally dispersed workforces now a reality, having an international presence is imperative. Technology continues to advance, and London stands as a major production center, making expansion the logical choice. Our presence in the UK will cater to the needs of these organizations.”
The new headquarters will accommodate ASG UK’s team in a flexible space designed to facilitate future expansion. ASG UK, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASG, forms part of the company’s phased approach to bolstering its international presence.
The UK team will prioritize serving its existing European clients, including SNAP, Google, and Yahoo, with even more comprehensive services. Additionally, ASG’s US clients with UK facilities will now have access to the same trusted source for data storage, workflow tools, and managed services as they do in the United States.
Ken Spickler, VP Global Engineering at Visual Data, a longstanding ASG customer with operations worldwide, including in the US and London, remarked: “Advanced Systems Group’s expansion into the UK is a boon to the European production and post-production services sector, enabling more companies to benefit from the wealth of knowledge and technical expertise it has accumulated over many years. At Visual Data, achieving our growth would have been much more challenging without relying on ASG.”
Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, ASG ranks among the top Systems Integrators in the United States. The company’s teams are organized into market and application-focused practices, providing consulting, systems integration, professional services and support, workflows and tools, cloud-based solutions, audio, artificial intelligence, and an acoustics group. Their multi-tiered Managed Services resources comprise over 400 experts, including technical directors, producers, studio operators, technologists, and an internal creative agency across the US and Europe.
“From the outset, our goal has never been to be the largest integrator, but to be recognized for delivering the best service to our customers,” said Dave Van Hoy, President of Advanced Systems Group. “We have been operating internationally with managed services and SI presence in London for over a decade, and several of our global M&E and enterprise customers have long urged us to establish a greater presence outside of North America. It’s evident that now is the right time to formally expand our international business and open an office in London.”
