wTVision has announced that its graphics workflows and sports data connectivity technology have been used in the production of selected live immersive sports experiences for Apple Vision Pro. The company’s workflows and sports data connectivity have been implemented in immersive basketball and baseball productions, as it has claimed in a statement.
Apple Immersive Video places Apple Vision Pro users at the centre of events and stories as they unfold, aiming to offer perspectives that go beyond traditional sports broadcasts. These projects seek to evolve the way live sports are produced and experienced by taking production workflows beyond the traditional broadcast frame and into immersive environments.
Recent productions include selected basketball and baseball events featured on Live Apple Immersive. In these productions, wTVision’s technology provides the real-time graphics layer integrated into the immersive experience.
In basketball, match elements such as lower thirds, player line-ups, game and shot clocks, and scoreboards are presented in 3D within the immersive environment. Baseball productions also incorporate a dedicated graphics package, with team line-ups and statistics presented spatially alongside the action.
As part of this broader immersive production infrastructure, wTVision connects event data to the graphics used during production, giving production teams real-time control over their creation, updates and presentation. The implementation relies on the company’s sports graphics controllers and specialised applications, including Basketball CG and Baseball CG, adapted to the specific requirements of immersive production.
“We are extremely proud to bring our real-time graphics workflow into a live immersive production environment,” says Flávio Maurício, CTO at wTVision. “Our role is clearly defined: to bring the expertise in graphics and sports data workflows that we have developed over many years into an entirely new production environment. It is exciting to contribute, alongside exceptional teams, to making this new generation of immersive sports experiences a reality.”
