Ateme virtualizes MyTV’s headend with TITAN software suite as a first step towards migration to the cloud

Ateme has recently announced that has virtualized the headend of MyTV, a subsidiary of VNPT, a telecommunications operator in Vietnam. To achieve this task, Ateme used its cloud-based TITAN software suite, composed of its multiscreen linear encoders and linear multiplexers.

Virtualizing the headend is the first step in the migration of all MyTV’s IPTV and OTT services to a private cloud.

The integration delivered by Ateme includes technologies such as the CMAF standard to enable low latency, SDI over IP, and Dynamic Ad Insertion capabilities for monetization with targeted advertising. The headend can expand easily. Based on containerized software orchestrated by Kubernetes, the headend runs on a private cloud.

“Unlike broadcast services, OTT services can face growing pains,” said Nguyen Duc Long, Sales Director at Ateme. “To meet the challenges of an expanding subscriber base, it’s important to have a robust and scalable platform. Moving to the cloud ensures this – while also reducing capital expenditure. We are thrilled to have been able to accompany MyTV in this first step of its migration to the cloud, helping it deliver captivating video experiences with a headend that is 100% cloud-based.”

“Thanks to the cloud-based solutions offered by Ateme, along with the team’s support and flexibility, we were able to start moving our OTT platform to a private cloud, which will allow us to deliver more content to more devices in a more affordable way”, said Nguyen Hong Phong, Director of Television Center, MyTv.
