Videosys Broadcast is expanding and rebranding its antenna division to capitalize on recent market successes, company stated. The company, known for its acquisition of Masthead Antennas two and a half years ago, is ramping up operations in West Sussex to accommodate heightened demand across multiple sectors.
The decision to consolidate and rebrand the antenna business comes as Videosys Broadcast experiences increased interest not only from traditional broadcast clientele but also from emerging markets such as robotics, security, and defense. Under the new identity of VB Antennas, the division aims to strengthen its market presence and operational efficiency.
Colin Tomlin, CEO of Videosys Broadcast, highlighted the strategic improvements made since acquiring Masthead Antennas, emphasizing streamlined design and manufacturing processes. “We’ve standardized parts and optimized supply chains to ensure product continuity, aligning with our pursuit of ISO 9001 accreditation,” Tomlin noted, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality management standards.
The expansion into new sectors reflects Videosys Broadcast’s adaptation to evolving market demands, particularly in security and defense. The company’s antennas now cover essential frequency bands like L, S, and C, crucial for ground-based security and surveillance, as well as NATO D-H bands for battlefield and mobile ad hoc network (MANET) connectivity.
“While our roots are in broadcast antennas for live events and outside broadcasts, our technology translates seamlessly into these new sectors,” Tomlin explained. He pointed out the versatility of Videosys antennas in applications ranging from unmanned vehicles to harsh RF environments, emphasizing their durability and flexibility.
Tomlin also highlighted Videosys Broadcast’s role as a comprehensive solutions provider, leveraging its expertise in antennas, video, radio, and camera systems. “We’re uniquely positioned to deliver bespoke systems across diverse use cases,” he noted, citing the development of specialized antennas like the gooseneck omni antenna for enhanced battlefield communications.
Recognizing the need for agility in manufacturing, Tomlin emphasized Videosys Broadcast’s capacity expansion to meet large-volume orders swiftly. “We’ve reduced lead times to four to six weeks, setting us apart from competitors with longer delivery schedules,” he stated, reaffirming the company’s commitment to UK-based manufacturing for enhanced reliability and supply chain control.
Videosys Broadcast’s strategic initiatives underscore its proactive approach to market expansion and operational excellence, positioning VB Antennas as a pivotal player in the evolving landscape of broadcast and beyond. For more information, visit http://vbantennas.com.
