Zero Density announces that the OGraf Studio, an open-source web browser-based graphics suite for creating HTML5 graphics, is available on GitHub. The company will demonstrate how it works at IBC2026 Booth 7.B01 (11-14th September, RAI Amsterdam), as it has claimed in a statement.
EBU OGraf is designed to provide an open specification for HTML5 broadcast graphics, with the intention of enabling a graphic to be created once and used across compatible renderers and production environments. OGraf Studio allows users to design, animate, validate, export, make data binding and key frame adjustments without building them entirely through code.
Developed as an open-source project and available at Zero Density’s GitHub repository, it gives broadcast graphics designers a common environment to explore and adopt EBU OGraf workflows. It can be used to create lower thirds, scoreboards, tickers, full-frame graphics and reusable data-driven templates through a familiar visual interface.
“By releasing OGraf Studio as an open-source project, we are giving broadcasters, designers and developers an accessible way to create, test and improve interoperable broadcast graphics
templates. IBC is the ideal place to introduce this open-source project and invite the broadcast community to contribute”, comments Kuban Altan, CEO of Zero Density.
Capabilities
- Platform compatibility: OGraf Studio (based on TypeScript and Node.js) can be run from source, while convenient single-executable distributions for Windows, macOS and Linux allow users to run it locally through their own browser without installing development tools.
- Visual design environment: A WYSIWYG canvas with layers, grouping, guides, rulers, snapping, clipping and responsive layout aids supports graphics creation directly in the browser.
- Detailed animation control: Independent animation tracks can be created for individual properties, with per-key easing and curves, local loops and freely movable OGraf steps.
- Data-driven graphics: Data fields can be connected to multiple independent property bindings across layers, supporting dynamic text, images, colors and gradients.
- OGraf preview: Users can preview Start, pausable Step and End behavior using the same timeline applied during export, helping them evaluate graphic behavior before deployment.
- Validation and export: Pre-save and pre-export checks assess packages against the bundled OGraf manifest, module and API requirements, including real-time and non-realtime compatibility.
- Optional AI-assisted authoring: A localhost MCP server exposes tools to create, validate, visual capture, certification, save and export capabilities to compatible AI-assisted development tools.
With the source code being publicly available, users can inspect the implementation, adapt it to their requirements and contribute improvements through GitHub. This open approach also aims to provide technology vendors and developers with a practical reference for experimenting with OGraf creation and export workflows.
OGraf Studio is now available. Visitors can see OGraf Studio at Zero Density Booth 7.B01 during IBC2026.
