Broadcasting Center Europe (BCE) will focus on demonstrating an end-to-end sovereign cloud media supply chain at IBC 2026, taking place at the RAI Amsterdam from 11th to 14th September 2026. Its stand C16, Hall 1, will explore how BCE’s media ecosystem is designed with the intention of helping customers access a sovereign environment while maintaining security and resilience, as the company has claimed in a statement.
As broadcasters accelerate cloud transformation, they face increasing demands around data security and regulatory compliance. BCE’s sovereign cloud media ecosystem, built in partnership with Scaleway and Ateme, addresses these challenges by providing a European alternative to traditional non-European hyperscale cloud providers.
“Sovereignty is about more than where data is stored, it is about who controls the media supply chain and whether organisations retain the freedom to choose, adapt and evolve their operations over time”, explains Sylvain Merle, Chief Technology Officer at BCE. “By combining European cloud infrastructure, trusted media technologies and BCE’s operational expertise, we provide customers with a resilient, production-ready environment in which they can modernise without giving up control or flexibility”.
At IBC 2026, BCE will also offer its portfolio of media infrastructure, live production, content management, digital distribution and Media-as-a-Service (MaaS). Rather than presenting these as standalone technologies, BCE and its partners combine them into an integrated operational environment.
BCE’s Media-as-a-Service (MaaS) approach is designed to help customers move beyond isolated applications by coordinating media operations around the content they manage every day, from live events and channels to content libraries. By connecting workflows, applications and services across cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments, MaaS gives teams greater visibility and control across the media supply chain, from ingest and processing to orchestration, distribution, monitoring and support.
BCE combines its integration and operational expertise with technologies from a partner ecosystem. Leveraging Scaleway for European cloud infrastructure and Ateme for media processing, BCE aims to deliver a fully operated media environment.
“Every media organisation has its own transformation journey. Our role is not to impose a cloud strategy, but to enable the right one. By combining BCE’s operational expertise as an integrator, service provider and network operator with the complementary technologies of Scaleway and Ateme, we help customers modernise their media supply chain at their own pace, while preserving resilience, technological sovereignty and the freedom to choose the best solutions over time”, adds Frédéric Fiévez, Chief Operating Officer at BCE.
