Bedrock and Ease Live collaborate to elevate UEFA EURO 2024 streaming experience with Interactive Overlays

Ease Live and Bedrock have joined forces to introduce the Interactive M6+ Live Sport Experience for the UEFA EURO 2024 Tournament, delivering live game statistics and interactivity directly to viewers through overlays on Android TVs, desktops, and mobile devices

Bedrock, European streaming technology company, and Ease Live, a subsidiary of Evertz specializing in innovative interactive TV technology, have announced their collaboration to offer media and entertainment companies highly immersive video experiences through Interactive Overlays, significantly enhancing viewer engagement.

Launching on June 15th in conjunction with coverage of the UEFA EURO 2024 football championship on M6+, the free streaming service from France’s Groupe M6, these Interactive Overlays will grant viewers access to live game statistics and fan engagement features, including match stats, team line-ups, player stats, standings, and more.

Jonas Engwall, CEO of Bedrock, expressed the rationale behind the collaboration: “At Bedrock, we’re continually developing new solutions to create exceptional streaming experiences, which is why we chose to collaborate with Ease Live. By merging Bedrock’s streaming expertise with Ease Live’s innovative overlay technology, we’re empowering M6+ to provide a truly engaging experience for EURO 2024 viewers, setting a standard for how fans will expect to interact with their favorite sporting events.”

In the initial rollout of this collaborative solution, Bedrock and Ease Live will deliver interactive overlays over-the-top (OTT) to M6+ viewers via Android TV, Apple iOS, and Android mobile devices. These features will later become available this year for various smart TVs and devices, including Samsung, LG, Hisense, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV. By implementing a solution that overlays existing TV or OTT services, Bedrock and Ease Live significantly reduce deployment times from months to days and enable global scalability, both companies stated.

Kjetil Horneland, Chief Executive Officer of Ease Live, emphasized the importance of user experience in engaging audiences with interactive content: “Delivering a great user experience across different devices is crucial for engaging audiences with interactive content – enabling our customers to expand their services and monetize more of their content. It’s truly exciting that the first deployment from our collaboration with Bedrock will enable France’s sports fans to enjoy interactivity throughout such a major event as the EURO 2024. We are impressed with the quality of their streaming services and their highly dedicated team and look forward to enabling M6+ and other Bedrock customers to launch interactive features in the future.”
